Rue de Laon
An Art Deco church that is particularly representative of the revival of sacred art in the 1920s. A masterpiece among the churches of the reconstruction, visitors will be captivated by the frescos, mosaics, stained-glass windows and the superb bell-tower being carried by angels. It was built between 1928 and 1933 under the supervision of architect Paul Müller. Its design was focused on modernity and a return to basics. The use of reinforced concrete, a material which was already used before the war by some architects, is placed side by side with the symbols of early Christians like the fish or the pelican.
