Forêt de Vauclair

This national forest – managed by the French National Forest Office – has an area of more than 1,000 ha and numerous species of broad-leaved trees (oak, beech, ash) and coniferous trees (Austrian pine, Scotch pine, spruce, etc.). It is also a haven of peace for hikers, as it is criss-crossed by many marked out footpaths, where you will come across a Cuif oak (named after the Inspector General of Water and Forests, Emile Cuif) which was planted during the reign of Louis XIV.
