This walk takes you through the gentle valleys and woodland in the heart of the Laonnois, an area where vineyards were once commonplace, an activity still testified by a number of place names and surviving wine-growers’ houses, the “vendangeoirs”. Noteworthy too is the 150-year old washhouse in Nouvion-le-Vineux (the oldest in this part of the country) and remarkable churches.
