In the hollow of the Vallée de la Suippe, the shrine of Fontaine Sainte-Geneviève was known for its healing properties. The last village in the Department of Marne, Orainville is the site of an interesting museum dedicated to farming mechanisation known as the “Farm 1900”. After the lock at Pignicourt, at the end of a long, narrow village, walkers reach the Canal Latéral de l'Aisne, which winds gently as far as Variscourt.
