Colligis Crandelain (10)

Overlooking the villages of Pancy and Colligis, this monument was erected by the Germans in 1915, to pay tribute to all servicemen, whatever their nationality… After the war, it was vandalized, in particular the eagles adorning its sides. Due to its location (just opposite the Chemin des Dames), it was also used as an observatory, thanks to a cavity underneath its base. In the near future, this unusual monument will be the subject of a special conservation project (beware, difficult access along a field – good shoes recommended!).
