Three musical giants in one evening! The program begins with the “Leonore I” Overture, a magnificent hymn to freedom. Although Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 5” is an early work, its melodic abundance and drama already herald the arrival of musical Romanticism. This masterpiece will be performed by the brilliant Czech musician Josef Spacek. Conductor Jan Willem de Vriend continues the enchantment with Schubert’s “Symphony No. 9, the Great”. Majestic, this symphony deserves its name!
