Conférence historique à Laon : “L’évolution des milieux forestiers du sud de la Picardie (XIIIe-XIXe siècle). Approches en écologie historique.”

SIM I

With climate change, forest landscapes will undergo particularly rapid change. Yet these landscapes have never been immutable. To anticipate future dynamics, we need to understand how forest environments have evolved over the centuries. Historical ecology makes it possible to reconstruct past forest evolutions, by cross-referencing textual sources, old maps, LiDAR (laser aéorporté) data and archaeological-environmental data (charcoal, sedimentary archives, dendroanalysis, fossil pollens, etc.). This conference will provide an update on studies currently being carried out in the south of the Hauts-de-France region, in the south of the Aisne (Retz) and in the forest continuity of the Oise valley and its surroundings (Compiègne and Chantilly in particular).
A conference led by Jérôme Buridant (Professor of Geography at the Université de Picardie Jules-Verne and Director of UMR 7058 CNRS EDYSAN – Ecologie et dynamique des systèmes anthropisés)…
