Exposition à Laon : “De Natura”

EXPO J-V ANDRE_De Natura SIM

Sculptor Jacque-Victor André, a native of Picardy, began by working intimately with the human body, but soon landscapes, gardens and forests became his sources of inspiration.
The artist seeks to capture passages, moments of life. Uneven surfaces reveal wrinkles, furrows, holes? rifts. These hollows incite movement, catching the light to express landscapes in the making.
Drawing inspiration from the “fabriques” of Renaissance gardens (grottoes, nymphaeums, gates, etc.), he adds an architectural dimension to his works, in which intimacy and his dreams as a sculptor nestle.
Using a variety of materials, from stone to granite, steel to concrete, his monumental, architectural constructions question our relationship with space in Paris, Dunkirk, Valenciennes, Reims,?
