Exposition à Laon : “IEMZA”

EXPO IEMZA © Thierry Gaudé 1

IEMZA is one of those self-taught artists with a tenacious will, which has led him from an imperative, obstinate practice on wasteland walls to Parisian galleries. And then there’s the obvious consistency of line, the graphic strength, the black, incisive strokes that immediately mark his world, as teeming as his production itself. From one drawing to the next, he has fleshed out a dark retro-futurist mythology rich in correspondences.
His work is unclassifiable, and Iemza sows confusion, which is what makes his practice so singular, his production so personal?
