This is the oldest surviving Hôtel-Dieu in northern France, dating back to the mid-17th century.
The first floor, also known as the “salle des malades”, is now home to the Pays de Laon Tourist Office, with direct access to :
>> all the information you need to discover Laon and its region;
>> a large store area;
>> the starting point for guided tours;
>> and don’t forget to admire the murals adorning its walls, the oldest dating back to the 13th century (with numerous representations of the ages of life, coats of arms, foliage…)
In the basement – also known as the “salle des passants” – you’ll find the gothic Bernard-de-Clairvaux room, now open to visitors, but also available for rental (festivities, exhibitions, etc.).
These two areas are normally accessible every day during Tourist Office opening hours, except for the Gothic Room if it is rented at that time…
