The Visitor Center is a bridge between past, present and future: XXL digital table, giant interactive timeline, archive images and testimonials tell the story of the lives of thousands of combatants plunged into the most terrible fighting of the First World War.
The Caverne du Dragon, a quarry that became an underground barracks during the Great War, presents visitors with numerous galleries that bear witness to the passage of soldiers. The chapel, first-aid and command posts, and no-man’s-land bear moving witness to the lives of these men, French and German alike, who lived, fought and sometimes lived together in the darkness of this place.
Don’t forget: you’ll find a specialist bookshop, a store and a tourist information desk on site.
The temperature in the Caverne is always 12°C, and guided tours are limited to 49 people.
