This picturesque courtyard is that of a former hostelry, housed in a 17th-century building of brick and half-timbering on a limestone base, remarkable for its mullioned windows and sweeping staircase. In 1626, the wooden gallery serving the upstairs bedrooms was built over the stables. The façade of the hostellerie was restored in the late 19th century. It is said that Louis XIV was conceived here in 1638 by Louis XIII and Anne of Austria on their way back from a pilgrimage to Liesse, where they prayed for an heir.
