A true “countryside in the city”, once planted with vines, this vast wooded area is one of the city’s most characteristic natural features. It is squeezed between the two arms of the upper town, and remains today one of the most popular places for walking in the town. It is reached by a series of paths called “grimpettes”, and one of them, the panoramic staircase, leads to the fortified gate of Chenizelles…
An unusual place to discover absolutely if you are passing through Laon!
