driant SIM

Son-in-law of General Boulanger, he was a soldier and politician at the end of the 19th century, before returning to service in the First World War, during which he died at Verdun in February 1916. He was also known as a writer of popular novels under his pseudonym Capitaine Danrit (an anagram of his name).

A museum dedicated to his memory opened in 2008 in his hometown of Neufchâtel-sur-Aisne (contact the Mairie to arrange guided tours).
