The Maison de la Nature et l’Oiseau (MNO) is an association offering educational activities for the general public and schoolchildren, including nature outings and exhibitions, and has 3 main missions: to help people discover the natural heritage of the Laonnois region; to share knowledge about flora and fauna; and to design or take part in events with a strong environmental vocation. To this end, it has its own ornithological and ecological museum, housing a large number of animals frequently encountered in our region, and is ideally situated on the shores of Lac de l’Ailette, a stopover for many bird species and a place where certain rare species of flora thrive.
