On April 16, 2013, a 20-meter-high observatory tower was inaugurated on the eastern tip of the Plateau de Californie, an emblematic site of the Great War. The tower provides a historical overview of the landscape, reminding us of the importance of high points during the war, and offering visitors who climb it an incomparable view of the village of Craonne below, as well as of the Chemin des Dames and the Champagne plain… Please note that access to the tower’s upper levels is closed to the public in the event of bad weather.
